  1. “God is not a genie”?!

I take great offense to that cliche – it’s been used on me far too often as a convenient excuse for so-called ‘experienced Christians’ to deny me of my healing, just so they can feel superior because they don’t have enough faith to do the same.

There’s nothing in the Bible that says you can’t ask God for something you want. Yes, you can go overboard in your prayers and treat God like Santa Claus, but it’s not wrong to ask God to fulfill a dream once in a while.

Fellow Christians, please don’t use “God-is-not-a-genie” anymore because it is unbiblical and insulting to people whom God has blessed with imagination and ambition. People I know have left the church for less than that.
