This from Associated Baptist Press:
RINGGOLD, Ga. — A school board in far northern Georgia upheld a policy Oct. 13 banning cheerleaders from displaying religious banners on the field at high-school football games.
Supporters of the signs, banned Sept. 28 by a superintendent who had been told by a Ringgold, Ga., woman that they violate federal law, rallied outside the first school-board meeting since the decision. They then packed the meeting room with a crowd estimated by local media at between 80 and 100 people strong.
Renzo Wiggins, attorney for Catoosa County Public Schools, told spectators the tradition of having football players at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School burst onto the field through paper signs displaying Bible verses violated the First Amendment’s ban on government endorsement of religion… read more
Bible verse ban spawns ‘wave of support for Christ’
This from OneNewsNow.com:
Despite a large public outcry over its decision to censor Bible verse banners held by high school football cheerleaders on the playing field, a Georgia school board is refusing to change its mind. However, the controversial policy has compelled many students to passionately defend their free-speech rights and proclaim their Christian beliefs…
…Many Christian parents and students in the community have voiced their disapproval of the ban by wearing “Warriors for Christ” T-shirts to football games and displaying scores of posters with Bible verses. And the Board’s decision on Tuesday night came despite another round of pleas from Christian parents who attended the meeting… read more
Sitting in front of the TV tonight, I thought I was watching President Barack Obama address a rare joint session of Congress about health care … but guess what … a townhall meeting broke out!
The incident came directly after Obama said, “There are also those who claim that our reform effort will insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false. The reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally.”
South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson forgot he was not at a town hall meeting on health care and shouted, “You lie!”
Wilson’s outburst caused Obama to pause briefly before he went on with his speech. Overhead in the visitors’ gallery, first lady Michelle Obama shook her head from side to side, according to AP reports.
Wilson’s shout drew immediate condemnation from both sides of the aisle, ultimately leading him to apologize.
While many Americans were already asleep and way past the prime time network and cable news, the word got out yesterday that Green Jobs Czar Van Jones took one for the “cause” and resigned.
While grooming to be the official Kool-Aid distributor of the 2009 Acorn Games, Van Jones forgot that it’s all on YouTube … his calling President George W. Bush and Republicans an expletive, his 9/11 U.S. blame game, his whites-poisoning-minorities diatribe, his smirking and laughing at his own hate talk, and more … all caught on tape.
And then there was Glenn Beck and the blogs, Tweets, and Facebook friends who had enough. In one week of exposure to a communist in the White House … Americans had enough … and so did Van Jones.
Van Jones resignation letter:
“I am resigning my post at the Council on Environmental Quality, effective today.
On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me. They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide.
I have been inundated with calls – from across the political spectrum – urging me to “stay and fight.”
But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future.
It has been a great honor to serve my country and my President in this capacity. I thank everyone who has offered support and encouragement. I am proud to have been able to make a contribution to the clean energy future. I will continue to do so, in the months and years ahead.”
Vicious smear campaign?
Perhaps it’s time for a reality check on the Van Jones issue … Van Jones retired because most Americans, and mostly the vocal ones, were fed up with a man who hates at least half of the country. No campaign needed … just simply truth exposed.

If Iranians can start a revolution on Twitter, Americans can oust Green Jobs Czar Van Jones from the White House with a few tweets!
My, my, isn’t it amazing how bold I/we can get in 140 characters or less! However, Tweeting on the subject of Van Jones is about a little more than boldness … it’s about helping people become aware of one bad apple that should not be as close as he is now to ANY U.S. president.

Well, where should we begin? How about Van Jones calling Republicans an expletive … oh, but wait, the Van Jones apology tour has begun: White House Green Jobs Adviser Apologizes for Calling Republicans ‘Assholes’
But, before I go any further, it’s not at all surprising that those who still hold traditional media dear to their hearts would miss news about the self-described communist. Case in point, this from an article published yesterday at the WashingtonExaminer.com:
The Van Jones (non) feeding frenzy
By Byron York
From a Nexis search a few moments ago:
Total words about the Van Jones controversy in the New York Times: 0.
Total words about the Van Jones controversy in the Washington Post: 0.
Total words about the Van Jones controversy on NBC Nightly News: 0.
Total words about the Van Jones controversy on ABC World News: 0.
Total words about the Van Jones controversy on CBS Evening News: 0.
If you were to receive all your news from any one of these outlets, or even all of them together, and you heard about some sort of controversy involving President Obama’s Special Adviser for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, your response would be, “Huh?” If you heard that that adviser, Van Jones, had apologized for a number of remarks and positions in the recent past, your response would be, “What?” And if you were in the Obama White House monitoring the Jones situation, you would be hoping that the news organizations listed above continue to hold the line — otherwise, Jones, who is quite well thought of in Obama circles, would be history.
And the article continues today with an update:
UPDATE: The New York Times, ABC and NBC hold the line
After the Jones controversy reached a boiling point on Friday, the Washington Post published a story, “White House Says Little on Embattled Jones,” on page A-3 of its Saturday edition. But the New York Times remained silent on the story.
Likewise, on Friday night the “CBS Evening News” reported the Jones matter, but ABC’s “World News” and “NBC Nightly News” again failed to report the story.
So, you say Van Jones’ name-calling is really no big deal. Can’t we just all get along? How about this video piece at Breitbart TV, where Jones is trying to explain some kind of distorted view on white teens and school shootings? I tell you, this guy throws back U.S. progress in diminishing racism by 20 years. Warning: this Van Jones snippet may attack all your sensibilities… Van Jones: Only “Suburban White Kids” Shoot Up Schools.
It seems every day now, there’s more disheartening information coming out about the Lenin-style-glasses wearing Van Jones. I’ll just add one more nugget for now …
This from Power Shift ‘09 conference in March:
“We’re really entering a third wave of environmentalism in the United States. The white polluters and the white environmentalists are essentially steering poison into the people of color communities.” – Van Jones (full story and video link available at AmericanRenaissance.com)
Where does America go from here? It’s certainly not a pretty picture now … and the future is a bit cloudy to say the least. For now, let’s follow each other on Twitter!

BREAKING NEWS: In the dark of the night, Van Jones resigns
LACONIA, New Hampshire — A homeschooled girl has been ordered into government-run public school for having a “bit too sincerely held” Christian beliefs, according to a legal team specializing in religious liberty defense.
In a report available online at the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) Web site, it states:
“Although the marital master making recommendations to the court agreed the child is ‘well liked, social and interactive with her peers, academically promising, and intellectually at or superior to grade level’ and that ‘it is clear that the home schooling…has more than kept up with the academic requirements of the…public school system,’ he nonetheless proposed that the Christian girl be ordered into a government-run school after considering ‘the impact of [her religious] beliefs on her interaction with others.’ The court approved the order.”
ADF allied attorney John Anthony Simmons has filed motions with a New Hampshire court, asking it to reconsider its order to send the 10-year-old homeschooled girl into public school.
Simmons said the court acknowledges that the girl in question is doing well socially and academically, but he adds that the court went too far when they determined that the girl’s Christian faith was a “bit too sincerely held and must be sifted, tested by, and mixed among other worldviews.”
Simmons contends that parents have a “fundamental right to make educational choices for their children.” However, the girl’s parents divorced in 1999, and she is now living with her mother who has been homeschooling the child since first grade. As part of the schooling, the young girl has been attending supplemental public school classes.
As part of parental custody hearings, a court-appointed guardian (marital master) stated that the child reflected her mother’s “rigidity” on questions of faith and added that girl’s best interest would be served by exposure to a public school setting.
According to the New Hampshire Supreme Court, Home Education is an enduring American tradition and right. ADF concludes, based on that statement, that there is no legitimate legal basis for this latest court ruling.
