Letterman can’t get enough Palin

Sarah Palin has been out of the limelight for more than 9 months now, but late-night host David Letterman can’t seem to satiate his appetite for using her as comedic fodder.

Having had to fill a large hole left in his “creative” repertoire when President George W. Bush left office, Letterman’s hate for all-things-conservative now blossoms with any news sound byte about Palin. He salivates when anything, just anything breaking about the former Alaska governor can be used as monologue material … tired monologue material. After all, Letterman has a whole host of Palin haters in his New York studio audience that co-sign his Palin bashing with big chuckles and applause.

Why not keep dipping into the well? Eight years of “George Bush is dumb” as the premise for a huge chunk of Letterman’s nightly humor became so old for some us that it could only be labeled as a liberal mantra. Besides, Palin is so easy. It’s so easy to bash a woman of such chutzpah, such simplicity, and such wisdom … that’s right, wisdom!

What’s wrong with Palin? Everything in the eyes of liberals … barely anything in the eyes of most with conservative thought.

So, go ahead Letterman and gang, keep “joking” on Palin. We are not offended, just amazed at your lack of understanding about what’s truly dumb and laughable: your liberal arrogance.

Tehachapi votes for prayer to stay

This is a great victory for religious liberty! Thank God, the word Jesus is not an “illegal word” and can still be uttered in public. – Chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt

LA CHURCH & STATE EXAMINER

Tehachapi City Council votes 5-0 for opening prayers to stay

The Tehachapi City Council voted unanimously to not put limits on what religious leaders say during opening prayers for its meetings Monday.

Mayor Linda Vernon started the prayers before meetings in the city, which is east of Bakersfield, when she took office in January. However, the prayers were put on hold at the council’s last meeting, Sept. 8, because of the threat of a lawsuit from the Freedom From Religion Foundation… READ FULL STORY

Media and ACORN on the Run

Never in my 20 years of journalism experience have I seen such an important story like the uncovering and revelation of ACORN’s corruption so blatantly ignored or downplayed by the mainstream media. You may have thought that the media’s love affair with President Barack Obama and his associations was just some trumped-up FOX News hype. Think again!

OBAMACORN

Some analysts have been touting the death of journalism for a couple years now. I’m going to qualify that statement by saying that the death notice of the news broadcasts that my generation and previous generations grew up on has officially been given.

However, there is a breath of fresh air. Two college-age kids nearly single-handedly brought down ACORN with their undercover video expose. Whether ACORN completely vanishes or not, I’d like to say, “Mike Wallace and 60 Minutes move over!”

Tom Fitton, President of Judicial Watch encapsulates the ACORN debacle in a posting on the group’s Website. More than likely, you will not find such a full summary anywhere else….

ACORN on the Run

The radical community organization ACORN finally and deservedly has fallen on some hard times. In just the last week, the U.S. Census Bureau severed its ties with ACORN, the U.S. Senate denied the organization access to housing funds, and — to top it all off — the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to deny ACORN all federal funds yesterday.

So, why is ACORN getting the cold shoulder in Washington with their former lawyer currently occupying the White House and liberals running Congress?

The tipping point was the release of the hidden camera videos that quickly became an Internet (www.BigGovernment.com) and Fox News Channel sensation last week. Young conservative journalists caught ACORN workers red-handed trying to advise the undercover reporters on how to evade tax, immigration, AND child prostitution laws!

Even the “ACORN President” in the White House couldn’t ignore this one. “The conduct that you see on those tapes is completely unacceptable,” said Obama White House spokesman Robert Gibbs after the videos surfaced.

Apparently, voter registration fraud is of no concern to the Obama administration. But fraudulent loans to fake pimps, now that crosses the line!

Judicial Watch launched an aggressive investigation of ACORN following press reports suggesting the U.S. Census had decided to partner with the organization. The Obama administration tried to downplay the ACORN-Census connection – calling the allegations “baseless.” But Judicial Watch persisted.

And, as you may recall, we obtained smoking gun documents from the Census Bureau detailing the substantial partnership with ACORN, including ACORN’s original Census partnership application. The document described 18 different areas of responsibility requested by ACORN, which, at the time, was under investigation in multiple states for illegal activity during the 2008 election, including voter registration fraud.

Under the partnership agreement, the Census Bureau offered ACORN the opportunity to “recruit Census workers” who would participate in the count. And, as an “executive level” partner, ACORN would have had the ability to “organize and/or serve as a member on a Complete Count Committee,” which, according to Census documents, helps “develop and implement locally based outreach and recruitment campaigns.”

We found this unacceptable. And the documents we uncovered, coupled with a massive public education campaign, led to an avalanche of negative publicity for ACORN and the Census Bureau. For example, I appeared twice on Fox News to discuss the scandal — Megyn Kelly and Glenn Beck highlighted our work.

Sure enough, in a letter to ACORN, Census Director Robert Groves wrote: “It is clear that ACORN’s affiliation with the 2010 census promotion has caused sufficient public concern in the general public…and may even become a discouragement to public cooperation, negatively impacting 2010 census efforts.”

Judicial Watch’s ACORN-Census investigation is just one component of a larger campaign to expose the organization. Overall, we’ve filed over two dozen Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests regarding allegations of ACORN misconduct with various agencies.

The good news from all of this is that ACORN is finally on the run. Its funding was cut. It was exposed as a complete fraud (again). And Judicial Watch helped force the U.S. Census to kick the organization to the curb where they belong. It’s about time.

ACORN is not going to disappear. They have leftist supporters throughout this administration and in Congress. In addition to being their lawyer in the past, Obama also worked for an ACORN affiliate “getting out the vote,” trained their people in left-wing pressure tactics, and his presidential campaign paid $800,000 to another ACORN group to help him beat Hillary.

The liberals who voted to keep funding ACORN included powerful Democratic Chairman Charles Rangel and Henry Waxman. ACORN advocate Barney Frank evidently went into hiding for the vote yesterday, but he surely remains a supporter and runs the powerful Financial Services Committee (a key committee for the ACORN housing operations).

Meanwhile, Judicial Watch’s other ACORN investigations continue. I sent you a solicitation earlier this week and I ask you to consider giving Judicial Watch a contribution as we review our next steps – to include possible FOIA litigation to uncover the various ACORN tentacles into our federal, state and local governments. We filed over two dozen FOIAs on ACORN with various federal agencies over the last few months. And now is the time to decide whether your Judicial Watch will begin suing in federal court to gain access to documents.

So let me hear from you. To help us build on the recent victories against ACORN, click here.

Gibson on ACORN Scandal: ‘I don’t even know about it’

While James O’Keefe, 25, and Hannah Giles, 20, have trumped failing media big dogs by revealing ACORN nut jobs who “counseled” the two on legitimizing an under-age prostitution ring, news anchors like Charlie Gibson remain clueless.

charlie-gibson

BigGovernment.com reports:

This morning, the ACORN scandal was raised to Charlie Gibson in an interview on WLS AM Chicago’s “Don Wade & Roma Morning Show.” Listen to the audio here.

TRANSCRIPT:

Don: Ok here’s my question, Senate bill yesterday passes cutting off funds to this group called ACORN. Now we got the…we got that bill passing, we got the embarrassing video of ACORN staff giving tax advice on how to set up a brothel with 13 year old hookers. It has everything you could want corruption and sleazy action at tax funded organizations that’s got government ties. But nobody’s covering that story why?

Charlie Gibson: (laugh) I don’t even know about it. Uh, so you got me at a loss, I don’t know. Uh, uh, but, but My goodness if it’s got everything including sleaziness in it we should talk about it this morning.

Roma: This is the American way…

Charlie Gibson: Well maybe, maybe that’s one you just leave to the cables.

Roma: Well I think that this is a huge issue because there’s so much funding that goes into this organization and it’s a multi…

Charlie Gibson: Well, I know we’ve done some stories about ACORN before but uh, uh this one I don’t know about.

Roma: Jake Tapper did some blogging on it. I know he’s at least blogged once on this scandal.

Charlie Gibson: You guys, you guys are really up on the uh on the website.

James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles

‘Progressives’ divisive, backward in DC rally racist claims

Progressives see progressivism as an attitude towards the world of politics that is broader than conservatism vs. liberalism, and as an attempt to break free from what they consider to be a false and divisive dichotomy. – Wikipedia
912 DC photo
Many self-proclaimed progressives and liberals turned ugly in the afterglow of the rally against out-of-control government spending in Washington D.C. Sunday, calling those in attendance “racist.”

While crowd estimates and reports range from 60,000 to 1.5 million, the event was significant enough to garner heavy Internet coverage, including a flowing stream of posts on Twitter. Tagged #912DC, the subject became a Twitter trending topic for most of the day.

However, while those in attendance and bloggers following on Twitter posted messages reflecting joy, pride, and excitement about the event also known as the “912 Project,” a flow of racist charges and sophmoric name-calling was evident.

It was not only “progressive” bloggers playing the race card. In one segment on CNN, the newsroom and bottom screen graphic asked viewers, “RACIAL UNDERTONES? with the subhead, “Tea Party rallies.”

But, perhaps nowhere is the ugliness more evident than on Twitter.

9-12 protesters=old white racists who like to bitch about big “gubment” from their federally funded hoverounds. – Sloopydrew

I thought it was really horrible, Beck using 9/11 to promote his own cause. It looked like a Klan or a Hitler rally. – RaiderNader

… libs think that thinking is important. Conservs want slavery returned & civil rights eliminated. – JimPolandcom

And so it went and so it goes … progressives being not so “progressive” after all. In fact, many in the anti-conservatism crowd have fueled any existing racism by perpetuating what most of us have always despised or eliminated years ago: lumping an entire group of people in a hateful way.

The ongoing chatter between so-called progressives had one Twitter member come up with a new “dictionary” definition for the online combatants:

Racer: (rā’sər) n. One who makes false claims of racism in order avoid answering legitimate arguments.

Progressives and liberals have always made us well aware of the hypocricy often found in conservatives’ alleged claim to the “moral highground.” Now, maybe it’s time for those with liberal leanings to abandon prejudice and crawl out of their dark caves.
